We know you may have a few inquiries about Vacation so, we created this list of frequently asked questions to help you get a better understanding about what we do and how we can help you personalize the dream vacation you deserve.

Am I obligated to use your service?

No. We understand your time is important especially when making decisions to plan your special event, post-nuptial celebration or vacation. So, we respect your time and hope that you’ll do the same with our team of dedicated travel agents because they always go the extra mile to provide you with a unique, top-tier experience.

When is the cheapest time of the year to travel?

We get asked this all the time. Our expert travel advice is to avoid traveling during holidays and long weekends when most people are trying to use maximize their vacation days. Consider booking your travel during low-tourism or off-peak season. In some cases, you not only cut down on the cost, but also avoid the crowds in your desired travel destination. 

Can you book my airplane reservation using reward points or miles?

Unfortunately, we can’t. If you want to book your travel using a specific points or miles program, we recommend booking directly with the airline or credit card company.

Will I get the guaranteed best rate if I book early?

Yes. Early booking rates are usually the best rates. Contact your travel agent if special promotions pop up or become available.

How early can I book a trip?

Airfare: If a flight is included in your travel, larger carriers – like Delta and American Airlines – allow customers to book 10 to 11 months before your departure date. Southwest and Sun Country only allow you to book 7 months in advance.

Accommodations: Resorts book out between 13 and 25 months.

Cruises: Most cruise companies allow passengers to book 18 to 31 months in advance.

Destination Weddings: Happy couples can usually book their destination wedding packages at a resort up to 18 months in advance, but this does not usually include airfare.

Can you get me a better rate than what I can find online?

Yes. Travel agents make your dollars travel further. We take pride in giving our clients the best value for their money. And our network of suppliers gives us a buying and pricing edge which we can pass on to you.

Do you price match?

We are confident we can provide the best prices through our contracts. However, if you find the same trip for less we will do our best to provide the same rate.

What’s the required amount for a trip deposit?  

It really depends on the vendor and the time frame of travel.  For example, if you book a trip 11-months out… you can put a deposit down now and make the final payment 60 days before travel. If you book 4 weeks before travel, you will more than likely have to pay in full.

After I make my deposit, can I make additional payments before my final payment? Can I make monthly payments?

Our clients usually pay a deposit and a final payment, but sometimes they make additional payments before the final payment to pay off their trip ahead of the deadline. Ideally a deposit is made to hold your booking and a final payment is made 60 days prior to travel. And just FYI, our travel agents call the vendor directly, using the client’s credit card. We do not process any in-house payments.

Can I add more people after I book a trip?

Yes. You can always have more people join you if space is available.

How long can you hold a reservation without payment?

Normally, we can hold a booking without any payment for 24 to 48 hours depending on the vendor. This allows extra time for you to look over the information and make a decision.

Do you charge a fee for booking my trip?

We do not charge a booking fee.

Does booking with a travel agent cost more than if I booked my trip on my own?

Not most of the time. Plus, a travel agent can get you more value for your dollar than a regular consumer could get on his/her own. Because agents have relationships with vendors, they have access to upgrades and special amenities (spa credits, shore excursions and tours, complimentary champagne, etc.) exclusive to their clients that you wouldn’t get on your own.

Do I need to book my trip with a travel agent?

No, but why would you want to deny yourself the benefits of a travel agent, including the fact that they are professional travelers, can offer you expert travel advice, have strong relationships with various travel companies, can create VIP experiences, and provide a stress-free travel experience before, during and after your journey.

Do I need travel insurance?

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Think of your trip as an investment that you should protect… just in case.

Does travel insurance cover me if I cancel for any reason?

Yes, depending on the coverage you purchase. We offer coverage that will allow you to cancel your trip for any reason. Ask your travel agent for more details.

Do cruises in the Caribbean run year-round?

Yes. The best time of year to cruise is December through April, which is usually perfect for a winter or spring getaway because the weather is warm. There’s also very little precipitation because these are the driest months of the year in the Caribbean. The least expensive times to cruise are late summer and fall because of hurricane season.

Do I need a passport for a cruise?

Cruises don't generally require a passport when the departure and final destinations are at the same US port. However, it is highly recommended that a passport is on hand at all times for international cruises and just in case the guest needs to be flown home for emergency at any of the other non-US ports. We always suggest checking with your travel agent about specific requirements when booking.

Can I get a free upgrade?

If a resort offers a free upgrade as part of a promotion or honeymoon package for example… it will most likely be based on availability. To stay in a specific room category (with an ocean view for example), it’s best to guarantee what you want by reserving it as early as possible.

Should I book excursions in advance?

Definitely book excursions in advance if you know there are activities you want to do during your trip. Agents have relationships with the most reputable excursion companies and have used these contacts during their own trips. They know firsthand the quality of the experience and the tour guides. Some tours only operate on certain days of the week and some sell out in advance like a trip to Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona. At these popular attractions, don’t expect to get same-day tickets. Some educational tours offer limited free tickets, but you can also buy them up to 2 months in advance for $1.50 on

Are there all-inclusive resorts in Hawaii?

Travaasa Hana (Maui) is the only all-inclusive resort in Hawaii. Why? Because most visitors to the Hawaiian Islands are usually out and about taking advantage of the islands’ diverse experiences rather than spending most of their time at a resort. Whereas, in the Caribbean, most visitors usually rave about the all-inclusive beachfront accommodations, where guests can relax and enjoy the amenities that come with an all-inclusive stay.

Are there all-inclusive resorts in Florida?

There is one, the Club Med Sand Piper located on the Port St. Lucie River. This resort has excellent food, an amazing fitness program, and a flying trapeze school for adventurous guests.

Where are most of the all-inclusives located in the Caribbean?
Most of the all-inclusive resorts and hotels are located primarily in the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Mexico.

Can Vacation book a bed and breakfast?

They can, but it might come with a fee. Most B&Bs are owned by local residents and aren’t affiliated with a large vendor who pays the agent’s commission directly for booking at their property.

When is hurricane season and what areas should I avoid?

According to NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), the official hurricane season for the Atlantic Basin (the Atlantic Ocean, the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico) is June 1 to November 30, but peak season is mid-August to late September.

Are there any Caribbean Islands that aren’t prone to hurricanes?

What destinations have reported Zika?

The Center for Disease Control mentions several travel destinations at risk of the Zika virus. And because the Zika infection during pregnancy can cause severe birth defects, pregnant women should not travel to the areas mentioned on their website. Find out which areas are at risk here.

Is it a travel agent’s responsibility to help me with required travel documentation?

No. You are responsible for making sure that all of your required proofs of identification are current.

Do I need a passport for the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI)?

If you are a U.S. citizen, a passport is not required, but it still serves as the best identification when traveling. Otherwise, be prepared to show evidence of citizenship when departing the islands, such as a raised-seal birth certificate and government-issued photo ID. If you are not a U.S. citizen, then a passport issued by your country of origin is required. We recommend you contact the U.S Customs & Border Protection agency if you are not sure of your status.
